“It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all – in which case, you fail by default.”
Bearing in mind that three drinks, twelve hours and one ill-advised dance intervene between me and this particular episode of Outnumbered (so my opinion is potentially not to be trusted), I think this is possibly the funniest yet. Mr Brockman’s goddaughter (nope, still can’t remember his first name) visits from Sydney; the family takes on a babysitting job; and Jake brings a girl home. Predictably, chaos ensues, much of it hilarious.
It’s certainly a benefit here that Karen takes a back seat, although there is a return to Gerbilgate which is, given the fact that she is eleven, still hard to credit. But most of it is more believable than the two previous episodes, which is, you know, a good thing.
It looks as though Outnumbered is finally getting back up to speed, for which let us all say thankya. Because it’s always nice to have some comedy lined up after a long day’s work.
