“The long arc of history bends towards justice.”
Still working off a Blog Backlog here at The English Student, and today for your delectation and delight I’ll be writing about a positively ancient couple of Silent Witness episodes. In the oddly-named Commodity, a two-parter shown over two consecutive nights a couple of weeks ago, Leo’s replacement arrives and is universally hated, and the team investigates the death of a woman and her son, one shot, one drugged.
To be honest, I don’t remember this episode well, which tells you everything you need to know. Colourless, uninteresting and strangely truncated despite its prodigious length, Commodity was essentially a Television Time-Filler: we watched it because it was on, and nothing better was. Although, to be fair, Silent Witness is usually better than this.
