“Writing is something you do alone. It’s a profession for introverts who want to tell you a story but don’t want to make eye contact while telling it.”
I actually forgot about the second episode of The Mill, which I saw last Sunday, mainly because I didn’t write it down. But, really, I don’t have very much to say about it, which is more of a compliment than it sounds. This week, Esther went to court after her stunt with the bell clapper, and the Greggs take on some new recruits. There was more unremitting Victorian greyness, some slave-labour comparisons, and one oblivious housewife.
Still, a nice balance of realism and hopefulness. I don’t have any snarky complaints today; I’ll look forward to seeing the next episode tomorrow.
